SERVICE OPPORTUNITY. We are looking for five volunteers to help us on Monday September 15th, 2025 from 9:15am-1pm. We are constructing a children's garden space at Rio Fernando Park. Children will be able to connect with nature through play and sensory experiences. We are looking for help constructing whimsy features out of reclaimed cottonwood, Russian olive, Siberian elm, and other species. These play features will span our Vigil y Romo acequia laterals, connecting children with our land and water. We also seek help clearing and prepping the space for planting fruits and veggies that children can pick and enjoy. This space will be used to support our education programming for schools and community groups. When you book, state the amount of time you plan to spend with us, and we'll go from there!
